Quantum-Saclay
Research conducted by the Paris-Saclay teams is at the highest international level and spans a wide range of quantum science and technology. It encompasses both fundamental and theoretical studies as well as experimental and technological developments. The teams investigate multiple platforms for the development of quantum functionalities, from massless and non-interacting particles such as photons, to isolated or interacting single atoms, and to mesoscopic electronic systems based on semiconductors or superconductors. Their work relies on advanced experimental developments in optics, on fabrication and characterization tools for condensed matter, and on nanotechnologies.
These research activities are fully aligned with the European Quantum Flagship in the fields of quantum computing, quantum communications, quantum simulation, and quantum sensing and metrology. They are strongly supported by pioneering fundamental studies, particularly in quantum matter and technological research.
